New Avenues for online Wearable Arts marketing

on Mon, 03/12/2012 - 14:18

Having recently had the privilege of attending the Harvard WSA event in Boston, it was fun to see start up businesses focusing on fashion and art!  Of note were Of/a Kind "Discover new designers. Learn their stories " and Refinery29 - for hot trends and shopping buzz.   It's great to see new options in addition to others like Custom Made. which is trying to diversify and include more artists.   I've also been on the road in Frederick, MD and Alexandria, VA.   I recently added a new shop in Alexandria - check them out A Show of Hands.   And here's newly minted pair of brown beauty earrings!

Stern Business School Women's Conference - Another Gathering of Great Women

It was really special to return to NYC for the SWIB conference and connect with women who wanted to share their stories.   What was striking is how we all reach the same general conclusions about what's important personally and professionally when you reach that 20+ year mark in your career.  Echos of my corporate life rang true in hearing Pattie Sellers from Fortune talk about the new level of comraderie among women in corporate America - a huge shift from when we started our career in the early 80's.

Wear the Art Is

Many thanks to Gail McCarthy who did an amazing job covering the seARTS "Celebrate Wearable Art!" event in the December issue of Cape Ann Magazine.   The photos are beautiful, but the message is very important - it really tells the story about why we did what we did.  I invite all of you to try to get a copy of the magazine which is not online, so get your ___ down to a place that sells the magazine - Bookstore, Building Center, Richdale and take it all in!
